“I can’t make you do it the right way”

Hello folks #reportinglivefrom Caracas.  Since coming back from Puerto Rico, we’ve started preseason preparations for our regular season which starts February 25th. This includes conditioning on the soccer field every morning at 6am for the next two and half weeks. I thought it would be hard, but since I’m already in game shape from playing all them months in the Dominica Republic, I’ve found it not to be too difficult.   In practice this past week we’ve just been playing inner-squad scrimmages, which have been very competitive and exciting, especially for the fans who come and watch.  After all the games, I will say the team is still getting used to the new additions on the court.  This year FIBA has pushed the three point line back to NBA range and made the lane wider. This benefits my game a lot giving me way more room to operate an advantage for a one-on-one player like myself. I’ve also been hitting over 50% of my three point shots and this is because I’m in my “STACY PATTON” comfort zone lol, and I feel like every shot I put up is going in. Every basketball player know if the coach gives you the green light and you’ve got the confidence to go with it, this will transition into good things during your season. Well until next time, I will leave you with this “I can teach you how to dribble, pass and shoot the right way, but I can’t make you do it the right way.” –Jeff Tufford
