The power of social media is alive and well. So much so, it has a handful of decorated collegiate and professional athletes bound for central Texas. The result of ongoing correspondence between local youths and event organizers (via Twitter and Facebook), the country’s fastest growing youth basketball program recently announced that McKenna New BraunFit Gymnasium, just outside of San Antonio, would become the groups 7th 2012 Texas summer location.
Joining forces with NBA athletes such as former Houston Rockets forward Mike Harris, HSBCAMPS world-class staff of collegiate and professional players and coaches, will offer aspiring young men and women the unique opportunity to train one-on-one with the pros.
“We are very excited that this opportunity has come together for us and are greatly looking forward to working with the outstanding staff at the McKenna New BraunFit facility,” shared HSBCAMPS Director Carson Sofro. “The power of the web and social media has helped us transform our business and reach thousands and it is very exciting to be able to turn social media requests into reality.”
The New Braunfels Day Camp will provide a limited number of participants (due to gym size limitations) in the upper elementary, middle, and high school grades (4-12), the opportunity to train one-on-one with NBA players such as Harris and other select pros. With more NBA staff announcements forthcoming, this will be an event not to be missed.
