I came to HSB four years ago.  An incoming freshman with big basketball aspirations, my Mom registered me for an HSB summer camp in Meridian.  It was HSB’s first camp in the Treasure Valley, and needless to say, was a life changing experience.  I not only gained a tremendous amount of self-confidence and character, but had the opportunity to train and learn from players and coaches from around the world.  It marked the beginning of my amazing HSB journey.

Over the next few years I attended camps, was an active member in the Academy, and worked daily to perfect my skills both on and off the court.  It is incredible how long it takes to really master and develop the various aspects of your game from basic dribbling and shooting drills, all the way to the advanced mental and physical training associated with the Academy.  I was pushed from minute one and loved every second of it.

This summer, HSB invited me and a fellow Academy member, to intern with them on their summer tour through Texas, Wyoming, & Utah.  All I have to say is “WOW!”  Although there was a little bit of work involved, setting up and breaking down camp everyday, I got to spend an entire month on the road with the pros training, developing, and growing as a person.  It truly changed my life in every way possible.  How many kids get to say they have friends playing in the NBA and overseas?

As I begin my senior year of high school, I look back and think of the incredible places, experiences, friends, and coaches I have had the opportunity to meet over the years.  I have connected with people from all over the world and changed my game, my attitude, and my outlook on where I want to be in the future.  Back with the Academy this fall, I look forward to every day on the court, and hopefully another amazing summer on the road with the guys.

I would truly recommend HSB to everyone and anyone and want to send special thanks to all of the coaches and people within the organization that have made everything possible.

Thank You Carson Sofro and HSB!
