NBA Sized Dream Becomes Reality In Meridian

Axiom & HSB Academy Team Up For World Class Hoops Facility

It’s been a five year journey, full of hard work, plenty of sacrifice and a whole lot of believing, but last Friday former hoop standout Carson Sofro took to social media to share the news.  The Co-Founder and Director of one of the countries fastest growing youth basketball initiatives announced via Instagram his NBA sized dream of opening a world class training and competition venue in Idaho’s Treasure Valley had finally become a reality.  Posting a full sized color rendering of the facilities brand new center court, Sofro revealed renovations on the 7,500 square foot space are well underway with operations scheduled to begin in early October of this year.

“We are beyond excited about the opportunities this partnership will provide not only for our kids but for the local community,” shared Sofro.  “Axiom and its management team really stepped up and made this whole thing possible.”

Capable of accommodating indoor athletic training, camps, leagues, as well as tournaments, HSB Academy Court as it has been called will fill a unique void throughout the valley, while also making a significant financial impact on the local and regional economy.

A place to play, learn and grow, HSB Academy Court will be the official home of HSBCAMPS, HSB Academy, and the all new TV80, the Treasure Valley’s only premier youth basketball league.  Additionally rental space has been made available to outside groups with much of it already spoken for on multi-year leases.

Facility features include a full sized NBA stadium court with shot clocks, two middle school sized practice courts and some of the industries top coaches and instructors.  With an attached fitness center, high end locker rooms and other available amenities, the overall complex has already become an attractive destination for groups not only throughout the country but around the world.

“We have been getting calls and inquiries from literally all over the world,” added Sofro.  “Professionally affiliated organizations all the way to clubs and youth teams from Asia and Central America.  The response has been truly remarkable.”

Beyond Axiom, HSB Academy and its team would like to acknowledge the following corporate sponsors who have stepped up to answer the call.  Those include bodybuilding.com, Gyro Shack, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, PC Maintenance, Goodwood BBQ, Powerade, Swire Coca-Cola, Terra West, A Higher Plane, and McAlvain Construction.

All information and media inquiry requests should be directed to info@hsbacademy.com or Mary Fleming at 208-513-3027.

Breaking News – NBA Veteran Mike Harris Is Coming To Camp!

International superstar and decorated NBA veteran Mike Harris is coming to camp.  Not training camp . . . summer camp.  The 6’6”, 240-pounder announced late last week via social media, he will be re-joining HSBCAMPS summer staff for 2018.  The Hillsboro, Texas native is expected to coach at all of HSB’s upcoming Treasure Valley sessions in June, including the 5-On-5 Draft Camp June 4th – 6th, 2018 at Meridian’s Home-court.

Rice University’s most outstanding player of all time, the former Milwaukee Buck, Washington Wizard, Houston Rocket, and Utah Jazz standout has enjoyed a storied professional career that has literally taken him all over the globe.  Harris’s accolades and accomplishment include multiple MVP and championship trophies in the NBA’s D-League, China’s CBA, and Puerto Rico’s BSN.  A father, mentor and all around amazing human being, this will be Mike’s 4th trip to Boise to coach and his presence will be one that will not go unnoticed.

“Mike is all about the kids,” shared HSBCAMPS founder and former teammate Carson Sofro.  “We are truly blessed to have him, as I would argue there are few with his basketball resume or experience.”

Following the Draft Camp in early June, Harris will attend the Centennial (June 7th – 9th) and Capital High School sessions (June 18th-20th & June 25th-29th), as well as the 3rd Annual Girls Team Camp up in McCall (June 21st – 23rd).

“I am so incredibly excited to be back in Boise and on the court with the kids,” shared Harris.  “I love these camps and cherish all opportunities to give back to the game that has given so much to me.”

Camp prices range from $110 – $265 depending on the session length and location.  One of the areas most popular programs for 10 years running, sessions do fill up quickly and many are already approaching capacity.  With availability for boys and girls grades K-12, for more information or to register visit www.hsbcamps.com or email info@hsbcamps.com.

2018 Summer Basketball Camp Registration Now Open!

Although many of you have already started signing up, we are happy to report that our 2018 Summer Basketball Camp Registration portal is now officially open.  Featuring a handful of new camps, coaches, and as always new additions to our curriculum, this summer will undoubtedly be our biggest yet.  Stay tuned for updates, registration alerts, and availability reports as camps begin to fill up.

Important Things To Note:

We Have A Brand New Registration System:  Remember all registrations for our camps moving forward will now be processed through SportsEngine.  This is a brand new system and much more user friendly than MindBody.  If you have not done so already, you will need to create a brand new account via your computer or smart phone.  The process is fairly easy and not particularly long.  Any questions or issues please contact us at info@hsbcamps.com.

Keep Your Information Updated:  Make sure that your information in the system is accurate (t-shirt size, grade, contact information, etc.)  This info is vital to ensuring everything is accurate and ready for your arrival at camp.

Make Sure To Register Early:  Every year we encourage families to register for sessions as early as possible.  This is not a marketing ploy but rather a testament to the reputation all of you have helped us create.  Please note, session quality will always remain our top priority.  Therefore, all of our programs have limitations on capacity that are strictly enforced.  As was the case last year, nearly all of our sessions were SOLD OUT.  We cannot stress and encourage parents enough to Register Early.  Once sessions reach capacity, all registrations will be diverted to a wait-list without exception.  Remember the Down Payment method can be used to reserve your spot in camp for just $35 with no additional payments due until May 1, 2018.

We are beyond excited for everything 2018 has in store and very much look forward to seeing many of you on the court this summer.  Take care!
